The time has finally come to release our Summer workshops! We have three great workshops coming up in July and August designed for a variety of skill levels. We hope you’ll come on out and get your Summer sew-jo on! Here are all the details:
When are they happening?
Each workshop happens on a Saturday in July or August from 9am – 4pm!
Who are they for?
Our workshops are intended for adults (18+). For required skill level, see our workshop descriptions below. If you are a complete newbie to sewing, our Make a Scarf class is designed for you!
What is included in a workshop?
- Lunch will be provided, as well as coffee and tea throughout the day to keep you fuelled.
- Sewing machines and any tools you may need.
- Note: Fabric and Patterns are NOT included for the Make a Skirt and Make a Robe workshops. Students will need to buy their pattern and fabric ahead of time. We’ll send everyone those details well before the day of the workshop!
What workshops are you offering?
We are offering three workshops: Make a Scarf, Make a Skirt, and Make a Robe. Each workshop is designed for a certain skill level, so check out the descriptions below to find one that is right for you!
Make a Scarf
Date: July 9th
This workshop is identical to our Learn to Sew – 101 class, but we will be covering all the material in one day instead of over several weeks. We will be making fat-quarter infinity scarves. This workshop is intended for absolute sewing beginners (you don’t even need to know what a sewing machine looks like!). Just show up and we’ll take care of the rest!
Make a Skirt
Date: July 23rd
This workshop is for people who may have some sewing experience, but want to start making clothes! We’ll teach you how to follow a pattern, cut out your fabric, and use some basic stitches that are essential in clothes-making. If you’ve already completed our Learn to Sew – 101 class, this would be a great next step for you! We will be using the Dominique pattern by Tilly and the Buttons.
Make a Robe
Date: August 27th
This workshop is intended for people who have sewn a few basic garments before and know how to follow a pattern. If you’ve completed our Learn to Sew – 102 or 103, this project will help you refine your beginner sewing skills! We will be using the Almada pattern by Seamwork Magazine.
To register for one (or all!) of these workshops, check out our ‘Classes’ tab in the menu above! If you have any questions, send us a message at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Hope to see you this Summer!
