Alright, alright. I know we’re supposed to get snow tomorrow/Wednesday, but it’s April, and I want it to be spring already! So, I’ve made a warm weather inspiration board and curated a few patterns that I plan to make as the snow melts.
It’s all about flowers, travel, hiking, picnics, and rainy days! Spring is usually filled with lovely pastels, but for my colour palette I wanted to add a dose of black and white. I think it’s a nice contrast.
Here are the four patterns I’ve chosen to sew over the next few months.
This dress is such a staple. A simple shift dress is something that I’m missing from my wardrobe, and I’ve got a blue and red floral stretch cotton in my stash that I think would be an ideal fit.
Can’t go wrong with a t-shirt, especially in the summer! I might actually make a few of these in different fabric types.
These are the quintessential spring/summer pants. Easy, breezy, cottony goodness. Ps. I may be using a tie dye chambray for these. Just maybe.
Yes!! A raincoat!! Originally, I had dreams of a sweet yellow rain jacket (like in the inspiration board above), but yellow nylon outerwear fabric seems to be scarce in St. John’s. So it’ll probably be a sweet green raincoat instead.
I can’t wait to start sewing these beauties so I can share them with you. Bring on Spring!
