I am so pleased to present to you my latest make: Phoebe by Colette Patterns!
Phoebe is a real gem of a pattern, especially for a button-up shirt loving gal like myself. I’m not usually one to wear sleeveless dresses, ’cause well, my arms get cold. But this dress was built for layering.
It is also built for dressing up. A little (or a lot) of bling, a red lip, and BAM! Completely different look.
This dress has a lined bodice, which is lovely for cold, damp NL winters. It was my first attempt at lining a garment, and it was’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be! It took more time than just traditionally finishing the seams, but it was definitely worth it. You can’t see it, but trust me, the inside of that dress looks FINE.
The green herringbone fabric I used was a mere $2.50/metre. Yup. I got a new dress for less than $10 (#win).
The next project I’m working on is also a dress, but it will be a nice contrast from this one. There’s floral, lightweight, spring goodness coming your way!
