My Wardrobe Planning

There are so many things that contribute to your style. How you dress, what you feel comfortable in, and the things you are attracted to are all a part of it. But the interesting thing about style, is that it is constantly evolving. What I liked to wear before I had four kids is completely different from what I wear today.

So over the last few months, I’ve been giving more thought to my wardrobe, and one activity that I found really interesting was the Wardrobe Architect by Colette Patterns.

It aims to centre in on your true style by looking at things like body type, colouring, and lifestyle, and then helps you build a wardrobe that you love!
Based on the Wardrobe Architect, here’s a glimpse into my personal style:

As a sewist, understanding my style is important because it impacts the patterns I pick out and the fabric that I choose to go along with them. I definitely recommend the Wardrobe Architect exercise if you are looking to clean out your closet or find out which key pieces of your wardrobe are missing!

Now that I’m armed with my inspiration board and my list of missing wardrobe pieces, I have gone in search of patterns to help complete my staple wardrobe. Hopefully over the next few months I will find the time to do some selfish sewing and share my makes with you! Stay tuned!
